“Pedal pull is something that happens at the fair. What you do is it is a tractor and it has a bunch of weight in the back and you pedal it and see how far you can get. Whoever pedals the farthest distance then wins. I got into it by just trying it one year to see how I like it, I was four when I first tried it. I have done it from when I was 4 to 12 years old. So if you get first second or third at the County fair then you go to the State fair which is in Hutchinson, from there if you get first second or third place there then you go to nationals in South Dakota. At the county fair there is typically not that many people, probably around 5 to 10 people participate. At the state level there is probably around 25 people. At nationals there is about 30 to 35 people. I really liked doing the pedal pull because I was really good at it and I always had a lot of fun while doing it. At the county fair I had been able to go to state every year. I was also able to go to nationals every year but I only went to nationals for only 4 of the years. I went to nationals when I was 9 and I got 2nd, I got 4th one year then 6th.”
