“The reason I chose to become a teacher in the first place was because I love explaining things to other people. I enjoy watching them understand and I mainly chose to teach Algebra because it was the easiest way to explain things and just the easiest subject in general for me personally. I’ve worked here at Baldwin High School for almost a year, and in general this is my first year teaching. I plan to work here at Baldwin High School as long as I can, or rather as long as they plan to let me work here. I personally enjoy teaching Algebra, as it is easy for me to understand it and I enjoy watching my students slowly learn how to understand it then use it. I like my students, though sometimes I don’t enjoy their behavior and how they act. I like to get to know my students. Originally before I decided to become a teacher I wanted to play soccer for a living, but I got injured, tearing my ACL and therefore ending my soccer career. I achieved my teaching degree shortly after I started going to school and stopped for a long time, so I would say it took me four years. It’s kind of scary thinking about teaching Algebra for the rest of my life to be honest, but I believe math in general. Yes, I will teach for a good few years. I think I’d get bored after awhile so I’ll likely be switching it up, like next year I plan to teach Geometry, and if I get better at teaching I might move to teaching Pre-Calculus.”
