Enright Gardens is a family-owned business founded by Sue and Steve Enright. Enright Gardens has been open for over 45 years. Now, the third generation, Lauren Enright, who is in the 8th grade, is already working at Enright Gardens.
“My favorite thing about working at Enright Garden is that I get to work with my family, but if you mess anything up, they will hang it over your head,” Enright said.
Enright is currently a member of The Future Farmers of America while working for Enright Gardens. On Sundays find them at the Kansas City Farmers’ Market, selling flowers and vegetables. Enright also has a YouTube channel Enright Gardens.
“At markets I like to see and meet lots of people who want to learn more about plants and have taken an interest in plants,” Enright said.
Starting with one greenhouse and a passion for plants, their businesses have expanded to 23 greenhouses, offering a diverse range of plants depending on the season. Over the years, they have been featured in Kansas Tourism, Wedding Wire, The Knot and now the Bulldog Bulletin.
“Watching Enright gardens grow was very rewarding and fulfilling,” Enright said.
The reason they are featured in The Knot is because many people choose to tie the knot at Brooklyn Hall, a wedding venue situated in the heart of Enright Garden. Brooklyn Hall is named after her sister, Brooklyn Enright, who is now a senior in high school and also works at Enright Gardens with her family.
“I see myself owning it one day because I will probably be the only one to stick around,” Enright said.
Overall Enright Gardens is a long lasting family business who works together and will for many years to come.
