Donnie Blanchat grew up in a small town of about 200 people, Bushton KS. Growing up in a small town, before any internet, there wasn’t a lot to do, but play outside and hang out with friends. Donnie knew at a young age what he wanted to do when he grew up.

“I always knew I wanted to teach, and coach”. Donnie started teaching after college in Mankato, KS. After 1 year in Mankato, he took a teaching job at Osawatomie, KS. Donnie commuted from Baldwin to Osawatomie for 11 years of his teaching career, when a social studies job came up in Baldwin City. Donnie began teaching in Baldwin in 2014. Donnie was a LINK Coordinator for 5 years and is currently the Junior Class sponsor. Donnie took the head coaching position for the Baldwin Bulldogs Boys Basketball team in 2021. Coach Blanchat is looking forward to the basketball season. “The boys have made improvements every year. I want the team to be competitive and play with Baldwin Bulldog pride.”
