The teachers at Baldwin High School have a variety of reasons why they chose their professions.

Donald Blanchat is a World History teacher at BHS. He has been teaching at BHS for six years. He also coached boys basketball for five years.

“I like the content of History, I had a great History teacher in high school and in college and that lead me into wanting to become a History teacher,” Blanchat said.

The guitar teacher at BHS, Katie Jacobsen, has many reasons for wanting to become a teacher. She is very happy and satisfied with the career choice she has picked.

“I became a teacher because it combined two of my biggest passions of music and children. I love teaching, I love working with kids and I love caring for my students,” Jacobsen said.

Katie Marten, the Spanish teacher at BHS has been teaching for 11 years. She has enjoyed those 11 years very much. Marten has done an amazing job at making students feel like they belong.

“I became a teacher to make connections with students and to help them feel like they are a part of something,” Marten said.

English teacher Sunny Allen makes learning very interesting and she is very creative with the way she teaches.

“My brother struggled in school and I would help him through and help him make it through grade school. I then decided that I should just become a teacher,” Allen said.

Humorous Jesse Austin has given us a response that is very fitting to his personality.

“I became a teacher to help students like myself help the future of Jesse Austins of the world,” Austin said.
