The dance team performed during halftime at the recent Homecoming game.

At 6 a.m. most kids are still sleeping in their beds. For the dance team this is not the case, they are waking up and going to their morning practices.

“It’s hard but we all have gotten used to it,” sophmore Jewel Marsh said.

For the new girls on the team it’s a big change for them. It hasn’t been all that hard though they have gotten used to it quickly.

It’s fun and it wakes me up,” Marsh said.

The dance team has performed once so far and performed again Friday night at the homecoming football game. Sophomore Addy Trendel, a member of the dance team, said they usually have three morning practices before they perform.

“With all of us being tired, we are all pretty funny,” Trendel said.

With the dance team having three practices before they perform, they use their time wisely. Two of the three practices are 1 hour. The other practice on Saturday morning is 3 hours long.

“Everyone the team connects really well,” Marsh said.

All the girls get along very well and are like one big family. During practices even though they are all still tired it is a lot of fun. They continue to keep going through every practice with a smile on their face.

“We are all BFF’S,” Marsh said.

With all the time they spend together they are pretty close. The dance team also performs at competitions as they do during halftime at football game. The team is coached by Kym Garcia. Marsh, a member of the dance team, said that Garcia is an amazing coach.

“This year is going to be a great year,” Trendel said.
