ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: Rachael Enick loving Air Force life

Alumni Spotlight-Rachael Enick, Air Force

Rachael Enick an alumni from Baldwin High School is an adventure seeker and loves this country and wanted to serve for the United States of America. Enick, decided to go into a career in the military. Enick chose to pursue a job in the United States Air Force.

What made you want to pursue a career in the Air Force?

“I always had a small drive to join and serve however, I only had one family member with experience in the military and even then I didn’t know much about it. It was unfamiliar territory. After graduating college with the intentions of going to medical school, I realized I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life inside in one area. I wanted a future with adventure, something I could look back at and not regret. I love this country, no matter how bad things may look at times. Somebody has to be there to preserve what we have and I saw an opportunity to follow in the footsteps of those who served in the past and I can’t be any more honored to be where I am serving the country and people I love.”

What are you hoping to achieve in this career?

“As an officer in the Air Force, there are endless amounts of career opportunities.  Honestly, I just want to take it day by day and mission by mission. The executives in my branch would like to hear me (and all young lieutenants) say we have aspirations of executive positions, but my main goal is to complete every mission to the best of my abilities and train those behind me to do the same.”

Would you recommend the Air Force for other people to pursue for a career? If so, why should they and how could a person join the Air Force?

I would absolutely recommend the Air Force! If you want the opportunity to travel, learn new skills, meet people from around the world, and serve your community and country, the military in general is an awesome place to be! There are many different ways to join the Air Force. The first step in any situation is to contact a recruiter which you can find on the Air Force website. One option is to enlist straight out of high school and attend Basic Training. If you are planning on attending college and want to commission as an officer I recommend you seek an Air Force ROTC program at select colleges and universities. If there are no AFROTC program.
