With the new school year brings a new season of Scholar’s Bowl and new members. This year sponsor Tom Sigvaldson is very confident about the new year.

“I think we’re going to have a very strong team,” Sigvaldson said. “It’s perhaps the strongest team we’ve had in years and maybe since I’ve been coaching.”

New team members look forward to competing in Scholar’s Bowl for the first time.

“I like having the opportunity to be competitive that doesn’t involve sports,” sophomore Ella Mozier said.  “I also like having the opportunity to be on a team.”

The older members of Scholar’s Bowl are excited to bond with their teammates new and old.

“I look forward to making garbage memes with my team,” senior Brennan Fletcher said.

Even though the team has already started practice, prospective members are still welcome. Practices are at 3:30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

“Come check it out and understand that a lot of students in Scholar’s Bowl aren’t honor roll students,” Sigvaldson said. “Understand that an interest in a certain area of information can make you a valuable member of the team.”

The first Scholar’s Bowl tournament will be on Oct. 26 in Spring Hill.
