English/Journalism teacher Kit Harris has been teaching at Baldwin High School for 15 years. He is very involved in everything he does, especially when it comes to the community.

Students appreciate Harris as a teacher at BHS.

“He is a funny guy, and he knows what he is talking about,”

senior Christian Gaylord.

When Harris is not teaching, he always tries to exercise or find a way to stay fit, as he has ran five marathons and many other races.

He spends time with his children, whenever he gets a chance.

“We do whatever is going on in the family,” Harris said. “I’m doing schoolwork or wrestling work a lot.”

Harris is the BHS wrestling coach and the BJHS wrestling coach.

He would have liked to teach Math if he was not an English teacher.

“I have been teaching English for 15 years,” he said. “I enjoy teaching it is a fun job.

When he is with his children, they do typical family things. They got a chocolate lab dog a couple years ago, when they returned from their experience at the Boston Marathon during the bombings.

“We have a family pet that we play with a lot,” he said. “Boston’s a good dog. The kids like her.”

Harris always has something going on, but he finds a way to spend time with his children. He and his sons started a lawn mowing business a couple years ago

“Our business has been really successful so far,” Harris said. “We have paid off all our equipment already. We keep pretty busy.”
