UP CLOSE: ‘Great students’ Makes teaching fun for Sigvaldson

Baldwin High School’s World History and Government Teacher Mrs Sigvaldson was interviewed on her stay here in BHS. She is very excited about her stay.

How do you handle it when students are debating about an issue in class?

  • “I love to get the students opinions! I try to keep sensitive issues focused on public policy.”

Do you usually take sides in the in class discussions in government?

  • “I usually try to take the side opposite my students… play the devils advocate.”

What made you get interested in this subjects?

  • “I’ve loved history since grade school”

What did you think of the elections?

  • “Elections are always exciting when they are close, you don’t know will win and you like both candidates. This election did not disappoint me!”

What is your favorite subject to teach of the two?

  • “Both world History and Government are my favorite to teach. I love teaching the underclass men and the seniors.”

How many years have you been teaching?

  • “I have been teaching in BHS for 32 years… whew!”

What do you like about tacking in Baldwin High School? 

  • “The kids! I believe the Baldwin High is at the top when it comes to performance and output. We consistently achieved because our outstanding staff and administrators and great kids. It is a joy  to come to work each day.”
