Senior Sammie Weiss scored so high on her PSAT test her junior year to be named a Commended Scholar.

“I was excited to be a Commended Scholar because it is such an honor,” Weiss said. “Hopefully, it will give me an edge on college applications.”

Weiss studied for the PSAT by studying and taking test’s in the upcoming week before the actual test day.

Rachael Smith, a BHS English teacher is not surprised of Weiss’s accomplishments.

“I’m not surprised that she received it,” Smith said. “She is so bright and intelligent.”

Weiss is part of the few students to receive this honor.

“It’s an honor to be a Commended Scholar,” Melody Hoffsommer said. “We have had two students since 2008”

Weiss’s has high expectations for herself after high school.

“I plan to attend college before hopefully going on into Law School,” Weis said. “Or earning my PhD in English.”
