GIRLS SOCCER: Wildcats too much for Bulldogs, snap streak with 4-0 win

  • Result: 10-0 Baldwin
  • Highlights: Sophomore Sierra McKinney scored five goals in the Bulldogs mercy-rule victory over Bishop Ward. Also scoring were freshman Ericka Petry and Megann Lawrenz who scored two goals each and senior Jessie Katzer.

  • Highlights: The Wildcats got on the board early in the first half. The Wildcats would then increase their lead to 2-0 midway through the second half and put in two late goals when the Bulldogs pushed up to score.

  • Highlights: The Bulldogs scored six goals on Thursday, May 9 to extend their winning streak to seven games. Sophomore Sierra McKinney lead the Bulldogs with two goals while senior Jordan Christian, sophomore Isabelle Buckley and freshman Ericka Petry added one each for the Bulldogs.

  • Highlights: The Bulldogs scored early in the 1st half to make it 1-0 going into halftime. The Bulldogs then added four more to cruise to their 6th straight victory. The win gave the team its first winning record in program history. Sophomore Sierra McKinney scored a hat-trick while senior Jesse Katzer added two.

  • Highlights: Sophomore Sierra McKinney had three first half goals for a hat-trick and one in the second. Senior Jesse Katzer added another from a pass from freshman Ericka Petry.

  • Highlights: Senior Kate Dixon scored her third goal in two games off a free kick midway through the first half. The Bulldogs defended the lead in the second half through two 30-minute rain delays to hold on for their fourth straight victory.

  • Result: 4-0 Baldwin
  • Highlights: Senior Jesse Katzer scored two goals in the first half to put the Bulldogs up 2-0. In the second half, senior Kate Dixon added two to make the deficit 4-0. Senior Morgan Smith recorded the shutout.

  • Result: 1-0 Baldwin
  • Highlights: Playing into heavy wind in the 1st half, the Bulldogs defended Emporia’s offensive attacks. In the 2nd half, the Bulldogs had the wind and managed to create offensive opportunities of their own. Finally, freshman Ericka Petry scored on a breakaway mid-way through the second half. The Bulldogs held on for their second-consecutive win. Senior Morgan Smith recorded the shutout.

  • Opponent: Tonganoxie
  • Result: 3-2 Baldwin
  • Highlights: Senior Jessie Katzer scored her first goal of the season with 23:37 remaining in the 1st half. Tonganoxie equalized in the first half with 6:50 remaining. In the second half, Katzer scored off a near-post shot on a breakaway to put the Bulldogs up 2-1 with 16:20 remaining in the game. Sophomore Sierra McKinney then scored what proved to be the game-winning goal off a penalty kick with 12:48 left in the game. The Chieftains fought back and cut the deficit in half with 5:27 remaining, but the Bulldogs held on for their first victory of the season.

  • Result: 1-0 Leavenworth
  • Highlights: The Bulldogs had more oppurtunities on goal, but failed to convert. The Pioneers scored the lone goal of the game off a break-away.

  • Opponent: Spring Hill (1st in KCSA 4A-1A Rankings)
  • Result: 7-1 Spring Hill
  • Highlights: Sophomore Sierra McKinney scored the Bulldogs lone goal late in the 1st half to pull the Bulldogs deficit to one. However, the Broncos would score five more goals to pull away.

  • Opponent: Lawrence
  • Result: 2-2 in overtime
  • Highlights: The Bulldogs fought back with two goals in the 2nd half to comeback from a 2-0 1st half deficit in favor of the Lions. Sophomore Sierra McKinney made the game 2-1 after intercepting a pass from a LHS defender. McKinney then tied the game with less than three minutes to go with a volley off a free kick taken by senior Kate Dixon. Both teams had good opportunities to win in overtime, but couldn’t convert.

  • Result: 7-0 Shawnee Heights
  • Highlights: The Bulldogs fell 7-0 to Shawnee Heights.

  • Result: 1-0 Piper
  • Highlights: A goal midway through the first half was enough for Piper as the Bulldogs couldn’t convert on numerous chances. The Pirates beat the Bulldogs twice last year, once in regional semi-finals 3-2.
