“When I first moved here, to Kansas, I was a bit scared as all new kids are. You think you’re not going to make any friends, but I found a good group of guys over the summer that I played basketball with. We kinda got to know each other and Riley Russell became one of my best friends and we started up Chess Club. We became co-founders and co-presidents for it and that was one of the most amazing things of high school that I’ve done. I got into Student Council which was fantastic for meeting new people. For NHS you get to volunteer and you get really involved in the school when you play sports like basketball and manage volleyball. Within a year I’ve found my place here in Kansas.”
