The Baldwin trap team wrapped up an impressive season, finishing second in the conference and placing 4 shooters in the top 100 statewide. Leading the team were Hunter Jatala (8th in the state), Ozzy Nue (12th), Oscar Lamb (62nd), and Aiden Soper (72nd).
In the conference standings, Baldwin took third place, with Hunter Jatala taking 1st overall and Ozzy Nue taking 3rd.
Jatala led the team and the conference with an average of 24.30 hit targets.
Freshman Oscar Lamb earned 12th place in the conference and third on the team, averaging 23.20 hit targets.
Eighth grader Ozzy Neu stood out as one of the youngest competitors, finishing second on the team with a 24.20 average and third in the conference.
“I feel pretty good about this season, but I think I could have done better,” Neu said.
Neu also succeeded at the state level, finishing 12th in the state in the high school clay target league, an impressive finish for just an eighth grader.
“I feel good about my placement this year, but I know that I could have gotten a better placement,” Neu said.
Even after a strong season, Neu is already looking ahead with bigger and better goals.
“My goals for next season are to have at least a 24.7 average and to get top 5 in the conference,” Neu said.
