Being a new student is never easy, especially when in high school, but senior Seth Phillips has had no problem adjusting to a new school and making his mark. Phillips is a new student to BHS and he has already become involved with the school and making his senior year count.

Phillips says the feeling of Baldwin is different than what he is used to as he came from a small private school prior to Baldwin, and he has received a warm welcome from the people of Baldwin.

“I like Baldwin. It’s alright. It’s a lot different than what I’m used to because I came from a small private school. I got a nice warm welcome and I am excited for the rest of the year,” Phillips said.

Though Phillips is new to BHS, he wasted no time in becoming involved with the school, as he has already tried out for the fall musical, “Grease,” and landed the leading roll as Danny Zuko.

“I wasn’t expecting a big roll this year due to the fact that I am new,” Phillips said. “I’m super excited though, because this is my first real high school experience.”

Phillips admits that landing the leading roll as a new student is a bit nerve wracking, though he is putting all this trust in teachers and students to help him through and get the hang of things.

Phillips says he thinks the musical will be a good one and many will enjoy it.

“There’s talent in our cast,” Phillips said. “It’s a family safe production, and will be a very quirky comedy.”
