Football looking for repeat of last year’s winning season

Football looking for repeat of last years winning season

After coming off of an 11-1 record, the Bulldog football team is preparing for what they hope is another successful season.

“I am excited to see the first game,” head coach Mike Berg said. “I think we have a lot of experience , it will keep us in close games. Every year when seniors graduate, the leadership leaves until the next senior class steps up to lead. They know the expectations and are role models for the rest of the team.”

“I think the team will do great even though we lost a lot of experience,” senior Christian Gaylord said.

The Bulldogs lost 15 seniors from last year’s playoff team, but this year’s group is optimistic. Such as senior Christian Gaylord, who has signed to play at University Nebraska next year.

The first game for the Bulldogs is at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 5, at Basehor-Linwood. The Bobcats were 3-6 last year.

The home opener for the Bulldogs is at  7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12 at Liston Stadium. This will be the annual Bash game.
