Tonights Bash enters 17 years of tradition at Liston Stadium

Preparations are being made for the 17th annual Bulldog Bash, as it quickly comes around the corner. The big event may seem simple, but behind the scenes many people play a crucial role in order for the Bash event to be fun, safe and successful.

This year’s Bash will be at 5:45 p.m. on Friday, Sep. 2, at Liston Stadium. The Baldwin will be presenting all their fall sports in a short parade.

“Seeing all the fans show up for the Bash will be an amazing feeling.” junior Jake Schrock said.

Schrock has been a part of the football program for two years.

Student council has organized a theme for the student section who will be attending Da Bash. The theme is purple along with superhero.

“Da Bash is always exciting,” bash coordinator Tina Schrock said. “not only do the football players play a large role, but the fans and people who participate in the event is what makes it special.”

Many freshman and new students are excited to attend the bash as a Baldwin High student.

“I am very grateful to be a part of the BHS football program,” junior football player and new student Luke Laskowski said. “I am looking forward to this Friday being able to play Eudora with my brothers.”

The Bulldogs will be playing their rival, Eudora. As the football teams fight for victory the student sections will also be involved in a competition.

“All the students can help us beat Eudora,” junior Student Council President McKinley Markley said. “Eudora student council and Baldwin StuCo decided to create a competition.”

During halftime of the Friday game, both StuCo’s will be counting how many students wear their proud color. Baldwin will wear purple and Eudora will be wearing red.

“This is a way to get everyone involved,” senior Student Council member Taylor Cawley said. “Not only do the football players have a goal to win, but so does our student section.”

The winner of the pride competition will be awarded a spirit stick, but most importantly school pride.
