The Aggressiveness of Wrestling

Plenty of people have a favorite sport. For some it is football or soccer, or possibly basketball, track or tennis. To me, wrestling is a better sport than any.

Sophomore State Qualifier Levi Green expressed his opinion about wrestling.

I like it because it’s a one on one sport and I like to be in attention and when you mess up it is your fault,” Green said. “I would say the best feeling is when you wrestle someone hard and you win.”

With that in mind, wrestling is an extremely aggressive and physical sport, but it is also mental. For junior varsity Pin Leader Wyatt Slavin, it is a great opportunity to learn an important life lesson.

“It is an individual sport you do not have to count on teammates and people not doing their jobs,” Slavin said. “It builds strength and character, it builds on what you know.”

That being said, wrestling is a great sport because it teaches you how to be aggressive when you need to and being respectful when you need to.
