With the start of a new school year, a new season of fall sports rolls around.

Both boys and girls in cross country had a very successful season last year, which both their seasons ended with being state champions.

“Hopefully we face De Soto and Paola and give them a run for their money,”  coach Mike Spielman said.

The next cross country meet is at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept 1 at Anderson County.

“Got some seniors coming back this year and some former players that know what they are doing,” senior Ben Ogle said.

Last football season ended with a overall recorded of 2-7 for BHS. This year head coach Mike Berg thinks this season will be different.

“The kids have worked really hard this summer,” coach Mike Berg said, “they didn’t really like losing last year. We are prepared this year.”

“We trained all summer and had good conditioning practices,”  junior Ian Beach said.

This past season ended with a record of 7-8-1 for the BHS boys soccer team. Returning senior and team captain, Noah Buckley, won honorable mention last year.

“We were really streaky and we would win 3 or four games and then lose 3 or 4 in a row,” last year’s coach Drew Ising said, “so it was really hard to predict which team would show up for any given game.”

Baldwin played Spring Hill sept. 1, with a loss 3-0 for varsity. Buckley was injured in the second half and didn’t play the rest of the game.
