Do you ever wonder about how your favorite teacher was like in high school?

High school is an amazing part in a young student’s life. It’s a great way to make new friends, join clubs, play sports, and find out who you want to be. Teachers are one of the major key elements. They teach students what they need to know for next school year and the years to come.

We may often forget about it, but our teachers were in high school once. They also were involved in sports, made friends, and stayed up late doing homework just like you and I. Are you curious to what some of our Baldwin High School teachers were like as students?

Athletics played a big role in some of the teachers high school career.

“I played soccer, basketball, baseball and football,” Science teacher Brant Brittingham said. “I really liked to play basketball because it’s a team sport and you don’t have to get tackled or tackle people.”

Basketball is another favorite for teacher Paul Musselman.

“I played football, basketball and track.” Musselman said. “My favorite was probably football and basketball both. I always played them and enjoyed them.”

Science teacher Scott Crenshaw loved high school.

“It was the best time of my life. I was sad when I graduated,” Crenshaw said. “I had great friends, lots of activities going on all the time. It was a simple, beautiful time.”

Academics were a favorite for Algebra teacher Danielle Balsman.

“I loved school. I just loved being challenged academically, that sounds nerdy but I do.”  Balsman said. “I knew I was going to become a teacher so I was practicing for when I was going to be one.”
