Pink Out attracts a great turnout

The air was filled with a sweet smell upon entrance, whistles rang louder off of each wall, and spray on pink hairs coloring filled the chairs.

This is the scene of Tuesday’s evening, as the BHS volleyball team played blank for the annual Pink Out game. Pink Out is a game held every year, where baked goods, and other miscellaneous items are sold. The donations are then given to help research and aid the fight for breast cancer.

“The bake sale was a great success. I was working during the varsity game, and many people came over and bought from us. It’s great to know that on game day you can still be rivals, but in the end pull together for something that can save others,” sophomore Alexia Nelson said.

The student section was roaring at any chance they could get, giving the volleyball team support when they needed it most. senior Austin Ward was given the award of BHS super fan at the game sporting his pink clothes, pink hair color, and pink lipstick.

The night began with the freshmen pulling out with a win. JV played next , and JV lost in the second set.

“Paola is a good team and we should have beat them. We just were having trouble with communication,” Nelson said.

Varsity came out with flying colors in the beginning, but Paola caught up and won the first set. The second set came as much of a dogfight as the other. Paola won the second set, and the Lady Bulldogs were feeling the pressure as they took the lead in the third, and continued until the very end. Paola won the third set, winning the game as well.

“I think it was really successful, there was a lot of people there, and it was a good turn out. It’s a great thing cause there are a lot of people that are affected by cancer, and just playing a little cards, helping set up decorations and playing a good volleyball game is a great way to help in a small way.” sophomore Sydney Bergan said about the game.
In overview, Pink Out is a great way to draw a crowd to your game, and raise money for a much needed cause.
